Well I have decided to make the first of my craft entries and it is a fabulous pattern of a knitted rabbit. I first saw this pattern back in November on the Etsy site I use, but I didn't have time to make it just then so when I saw the Knitted Article Catergory I knew I had to knit this Bunny.
The pattern was purchased as a PDF from Mary Jane's Tearoom where you can find a whole host of gorgeous knitted rabbits and mice patterns. The one I am doing is Primrose.

The instructions are very easy and clear to understand and last night I completed knitting the body, the bit I am struggling with is the same as always for me the making up! If I loose points it will probably be in this area and as I have only ever knitted one other toy before getting the stuffing filled without being lumpy is another issue for me but I have done my best.
Knitting the clothing is the next job and I am looking forward to doing this this week, unfortunately I cant do any tonight as I have a WI meeting to attend!

Welcome to my 2012 Best In Show Diary
I recently joined a local Women's Institute in my area, it was brand new and newly formed and I was quickly roped in on the committee. I was a member way back in the eighties but my local club folded due to lack of support, and I didn't have the time to get involved with another group until now.
I was very keen on entering craft competitions back them and used to do quite well, so on rejoining I wanted to know whether they still ran these comps now. Whey hey they do and there is a big one coming up in September.
Inspired by Kirsty Allsop and her Best in Show series I am planning to enter a few categories.
I was given the entry form at our last meeting and having studied it I have decided to enter 21 entries!!!
With careful planning I think I can achieve this (i hope)
I have decided to start making the entries for all the crafting side of things now, this will then leave me time to make the preserves later in season and the baking side of things will be done last minute, that's the plan anyway.
My aim is to also keep you up to date with how it is all going so my blog this year will be dedicated to
"Best in Show", well you have to aim high don't you!
